  • A prime (pronounced preem) is a borrowed French cycling term, meaning an additional award presented to a leader or a designated athlete position at a specific point during the race. In the case for The Ferryman's Challenge, we have 2 interim points along the racecourse at the 100m & 250m marks that will be announced prior to the start of the race by the starting referee.

  • The Ferryman’s Challenge is a 1000M sprint along a 6 lane fully buoyed race course. There are only 3 boat classes (1X/4X/8+) and 3 age groups (U19/Open/Masters 45+) for both Male and Female.

  • As we get closer to the event date and have a better understanding of our total entries and what will be provided by our sponsors, we will update teams on the exact numbers.

  • It is important to consult with your coaches on the exact rules for accepting monetary rewards for rowing due to interest in competing in the Olympics, recruiting for College etc… for any athlete not wishing to directly collect their prize money, we will try to offer opportunities to create a grant to pay for club/school dues, donate your winnings to our charities, or pass on your prize to the following years prize purse.
